On Saturday, June 27, 2026, Sharkey & The Sparks will return to the Towne Crier Cafe in Beacon, NY. The full-band line up features Sharkey McEwen — well known to music lovers throughout the Hudson Valley and beyond as the lead guitarist of The Slambovian Circus of Dreams — Ben McEwen, Sharkey’s fabulous son; and a select group of talented musician friends including Felipe Torres on drums, RJ McCarty on keyboards, Quinn Petkus on bass, Oliver Petkus on trombone, plus special guests! This multi-generational, multi-talented ensemble is heart-warming to behold.

In the midst of many pleasant late-night driving & listening sessions in the early months of the pandemic, Sharkey & Ben found themselves enchanted by the wonderful sounds of early Fleetwood Mac. This gem of a song stood out and they were soon playing it together on guitars, and before you know it, a video project was in the works. The resulting video was released in July of 2020. “Sunny Side of Heaven” was written by Danny Kirwan of Fleetwood Mac.

About Sharkey McEwen
A world-class guitarist, vocalist, and producer,
Sharkey McEwen has toured nationally and internationally for over 20 years with performances across the United States, Japan, Korea, China, Canada, England and Germany.
With a soulful, evocative guitar style akin to the spirit of legends Duane Allman, Carlos Santana, and David Gilmour, and yet a signature sound all his own, Sharkey’s emotive touch has garnered him deep respect and admiration from peers and fans alike.
Most well known as the lead guitarist for The Slambovian Circus of Dreams based in New York state, Sharkey continues to perform, produce, and expand into new territory.
